東柯好崖谷，
不與衆峯羣。
落日邀雙鳥，
晴天養片雲。
野人矜險絕，
水竹會平分。
採藥吾將老，
兒童未遣聞。

I like the beauty
of this rocky valley

the best one around here
I think

birds in pairs
fly into the sunset

one cloud
in a clear sky

the remoteness of all this
is what the natives boast of 

plenty of water
plenty of bamboo

I think about settling here
learning to gather healing herbs

although I haven't said so 
to my children.
